"Virtual reality and new technologies increasingly a part of the travel industry"is an essay that focused on the new technologies’ power in tourism industry. As we all know, the advanced devices have broken the limit of geography gap, changed our living styles and thinking patterns. We could connect people in different countries and time zones and also get into a digital era, and everything in current world is becoming faster and faster. Now, people can travel much far and spend less money. More important, some highly sophisticated products seem to lead a new trend in tourism industry, such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence and so on.

As many companies have seen this inevitable trend for the future, they try their best to use new technologies to attract more potential tourists. In new technologies, VR and artificial intelligence need to be mentioned.
The first time I heard about “VR” technology is in video games and some private cinemas. And now, it becomes a new trend in travel industry. With the help of VR, people can enjoy the scenery at their home, so they don’t need to suffer from the uncontrolled weather, the traffic problems and other accidents that may occurred during the travel. For example, Marriot Hotels has launched a VRoom service and VR postcards to provide their customers an unusual experience. Personally, the VR and other new technologies can also be used in product promotion. In some exhibitions, clients can experience the product’s features and functions more vividly. To be more specific, for an online clothing store, clients can use VR to gain the image that they wear the new clothing which they want buy and to know weather this suite fits them or not. And for travel agency, they can cooperate with the airlines, using VR to enhance the flight experience and promote their destination.

For the artificial intelligence, it's hard to say whether its real impact on human life is good or bad in the future. But it is undeniable that many tourists are willing to use robots while traveling. Robots in the Netherlands airport help people find their gates. Costa Cruises owns a multilingual robot that give travelers some useful advice. Hilton's Connie can introduce Hilton's features and local attractions to its customers.

However, this article also pointed some drawbacks about the new technologies. For some people, they still love a true adventure travel and prefer face-to-face communication. Besides, what the VR and artificial intelligence provide to the clients may have some differences. The human being’s feeling is very subjective and vulnerable. In this case, we suggest that the VR and other high technologies are better to combined with human sources.
