Social Travel Summit to be held in September in Belfast

Since 2014, the Social Travel Summit is one of the most anticipated conference for professional travel influencers. The two-days summit will gather tourism industry leaders and international travel influencers to focus on travel and tourism marketing from Tuesday 25th to Wednesday 26th September.

The summit, supported by VisitBritain and Tourism Northen Ireland, aims to provide innovative discussions on the latest trends and insights of the industry, focusing on the uses and roles of influencers and social medias, but is also a great networking opportunity.

It's the second time STS comes to UK, after the success of the 2016 event hosted in Inverness. Trips and visits across the UK are planned around the theme of "the passions that motivate travel" to encourage influencers to share their stories and experiences of the UK.

With this event, VisitBritain is affirming its will to develop a powerful and innovative digital marketing strategy, echoing its latest digital advertisement campaign “I Travel For…” and its strong relationship with worldwide travel influencers.

Beyond the opportunity for the UK and the city of Belfast to showcase their offers of touristic experiences through influencers, the STS is also an event that helps to move tourism digital marketing forward, by focusing on quality contents, engaging with an audience and millennials behaviours. Tour operators, destination management organisations, digital marketers and agencies are awaited to join the discussion to help gain a better understanding of local to international digital trends.

The organiser of the summit, the network iambassador, was initiated in 2011 to gather travel bloggers and tourism providers and help them do business together. It illustrates the growing impact influencers have had on consumption behaviours since the early 2010's, and social medias have been the key channel in making influence marketing a major strategy for companies to promote their products and services.
