In an article in Forbes, Casey Hynes writes about blockchain technology that could be useful for Southeast Asia’s airlines. Especially better mobile functions would provide better service for the growing amount of tourists visiting Southeast Asia every year. This means more up-to-date information for both travellers and the staff in the airlines. This also means enhanced authentication and and more secure transactions. This sounds good in our opinion, because it might be hard to find relevant and up-to-date information in Asia, because there are so much information available. Also the security is something that might be suspicious for some tourists due to criminality in Asia. That is why it would be good if they improved their security systems in travelling, especially in the payment.One of the biggest things in security in travelling is that you can use a payment method that is secure. A mobile payment is also an easier way, because then you do not have to carry cash or credit card with you.

Hynes also writes that this blockchain technology makes it possible to have all the important information in the same appliance which makes it even more easier to travel. You have everything you need on your mobile phone. And who travels without their mobile phone? What should be considered here though, is that mobile phone operators should provide affordable options for travellers, because these applications and technologies usually need an access to Internet. Travellers are very cautious about their Internet usage in abroad due to the expensive prices, which can reduce the amount of users in these kind of technologies.

However, these technologies are already adapted in western part of the world, but should also be adapted in the eastern part. Like said earlier, more and more people want to travel in Asia. They go backpacking and travel there for months, moving from one place to another. They need constant updates on for example delays, arrives and departures. They want the same easiness in their travelling as they get in Europe or in the USA for example. With this Blockchain technology the Southeast Asia’s airlines can get more customers, and more loyal customers, because they appreciate the information that they get and they do not have to go to  airports for nothing, for example if the flight is cancelled.
