BibeliB: the suitcase cover connected

BibeliB is a French startup founded in 2011 by William Talla, a young entrepreneur who worked for 4 and a half years as Baggage Protection Manager at Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport. The company raised funds of €543k in 2015 and it was selected to exhibit at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas in mid-January 2017. BibeliB is the first French brand of travel accessories that are smart and trendy and allow traveling with style in complete tranquility.

The founder of BibeliB noticed that many passengers covered their luggage with plastic film. This solution was great but it is expensive, non-environmental friendly and unattractive. BibeliB rectifies these 3 points by creating a cover in the manner of a second elastic skin, easy to use, safe and also esthetic. In fact, the cover is suitable for all suitcases 60 to 80 cm high and protects them from all light scratches and shocks. In addition, the company has developed its own traceability system: each suitcase cover is equipped with a QR Code, which, thanks to a scan with a smartphone, makes it possible to identify all the places where transit the luggage. Indeed, nearly 30 million luggage were lost in airports at a total cost of $ 2.5 billion in 2013. The suitcase cover is thus a good solution for travelers.

How does it work?

Its integrated Lost & Found function allows the traveler to recover its suitcase.

First of all, the traveler has to activate the traceability online thanks to its unique activation code. Then, he has to prevent the carrier and BibeliB.com of the loss of his luggage. His suitcase is identified through the system Lost & Found and he is warned by message or email alert. Finally, the finder returns to the traveler his bag.

This cover seems to attract many travelers because more than 25 000 copies have been sold. Its price remains reasonable: €44,90. It includes the cover, the traceability system and the insurance for one year in case of loss of the bag.
