More and more companies are pay increasingly attention to enhance the tourists’ experience satisfaction by using the wearable devices during their trips and visits. For example, in Disney’s new MagicBand 2 in Florida, the visitors can use the RFID band to get entry to the park and open their hotel room and use it to make reservations for rides and attractions. Besides, the RFID band has already a theme of Beauty and the Beast, other theme is on the way. This is kind of a reflection of combination of modern technological devices and tourism, this wearable devices facilitate the convenience of visit, the cartoon theme band is relevant to the Disney Park which is also a great way for marketing.
Another example is Universal Orlando, it launched its TapuTapu wearables devices which allows their visitors to use it to interact with environment while waiting in queue. It decreases relatively the waiting time and make the the waiting become more interesting, it reduces the loss of visitors due to the long waiting time and enhance visitors’ satisfaction.
As for me, I think that wearable devices are like a tiny part of your body, unlike the smartphone, it is usually smaller and there is no worry about running out of battery. And also it is more convenient for children to use, because not all children have a smartphone and also the possibility of loss exists as well, it is more user-friendly. During the visit, there are several big function of these kind of wearable devices:
Identification recognition
In the past days, when you’re out, you must take your ID card and bank card or you will face a lot of problems. But having a wearable device, you can be recognized by fingerprint and heart rate which is recorded in your wearable device, and you can put your E-visa in these devices, when you need to prove yourself, just show the devices, you can finish the boarding and pass the Customs easily. As I mentioned above, you can use it to open your hotel room and make the reservation of restaurant and attractions.
Communication
When you travel over-seas, the biggest problem is the language, some people choose to cram the local language but it is usually helpless. Taking a wearable device makes the language problem become a piece of cake. When you don’t understand some words and sentences, you just scan the words by using the wearable device, it will tell you the meaning. As for the situation when you don’t have Wi-Fi around you, the devices can also contain some translations about important words and sentences.
Everyone is his or her own tour guide
The visit experience with wearable devices can be much more fun than the traditional tour guided visit. It contains much more information and exhaustive tour interpretation, it is a powerful GPS, it can also be combined with other technologies like virtual reality.
