Tripilli, when the sharing economy competes with Travel Guides

At the beginning of January 2017, the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) was held in Las Vegas. More than 3,800 innovators were there to present their new product. In term of Tourism, the French website Tripilli has attracted attention of the public. The company describes itself as a specialist in the collaborative travel journal and take part of the evolution of the sharing economy. The concept is linked with the external networks and is financed by crowdsourcing through Ulule. Tripilli is entering in the success of the sharing economy by connecting individuals with other individuals.

How does it work?

When traveling we like to share our experiences through the social media with pictures and stories. We love to see what our friends have seen and ask them information. Now with Tripilli, travelers can buy travel guides created by other travelers with a lot of information and tips. Those guides are really complete as they provide information on restaurants, visits, lodgings which are rated by the creator and verified by the company, so it is reliable. Then future travelers can create their tailor-made trip by choosing a destination and the time they will spend there (Road trip, 1 week holiday or just a week end). Prices are relatively reasonable: from 6,50€ a guide for a week end to 39€ for a three-week road trip.

It not only allows travelers to save time when preparing their journey, but also avoid them bad surprises on the trip. The concept is completely new:
- It brings travelers a complementary income by sharing their experiences
- The wide choice of routes allow anyone to find the suitable trip
- Some places not shared by advertisement can be discovered
- It is complete and easy to use

The website only exists in French, but for sure will be soon available in English version for travelers all over the world.
