Dolphin Dynamics Ltd.: Progress Toward Complex Solutions

It is very common nowadays for travelers to book their holidays and travel solutions online, independently from travel agencies. Therefore the use of tour operators and the demand for online services is growing. However, the complex solutions for various price ranges and travel opportunities were not offered yet. Travelers had the possibility to use services of travel agencies, which were able to construct tailored products, which were suitable and feasible for travelers and their needs and wants.

The pre-packaged tours and trips were offered on a smaller scale, as it will be now. The software development company, Dolphin Dynamics Ltd. released recently in 2012 its new software, offering technology solution for tour operators and creation of easy to use packaging of holidays. This software will allow tour operators to propose various and complex solutions for holidays and travel opportunities and the final clients will have the opportunity to receive tailor made services, with the best price deals and travel information.

 After analysis of the software, the pre-packaged holiday search will help the final client to receive the most suitable services. These services include: 
1.     Traveling - flights, trains, buses, rent a car possibilities
2.     Accommodations - hotels, hostels, camps, apartments rentals
3.     Cruises
4.     Ground products – trips, visits, etc.

All these propositions will be offered according to the clients’ criteria, such as price range, places to visit, the time frame and flexibility. According to us, the ease of choosing own and flexible dates for traveling, exact timing of flights (type of flights and airline companies), alternative for accommodation, and as a final point the price comparison for each option, final exact pricing, and offer of alternatives will become a way how to differentiate itself and offer customized travel solutions.

Additionally, clients and agents are interested to construct their packages online, and receive all information via e-mail. This software will allow tour operators to work entirely online, or partially online, with the help of call centers.

As an advantage of the software will be the in- built database with all possible ways to travel, places to go, visits and tours. The database can be enlarged, depending on the portfolio of possibilities. As mentioned at Travel Technology Europe, February 2012, “in-built pricing and contract management tools dynamically apply mark-ups, commissions and discounts based on configurable business rules or the package price can be fixed when pre-building the package, in order to maximize yield and revenue.” (Andy Davies, 2012). This means that tour operators will be aware of the whole package pricing and will be able to manipulate the prices, in order to create the perfectly suitable mix for its clients.

For a traveler, multi- cultural tours are difficult to prepare, and the process is timely and costly. However, multiple country and city tours, offering various extra products and services and travel options will be revolutionary for the online traveling industry. As long as clients will be able to use the online information, and it will be easy to use, fast and understandable, the software will be successful.

In our opinion, each software company should focus on R&D and innovation, in order to make their products easy to use and popular among the clients. Not all travelers are able to/ do not want to use online services, therefore call centers must be implemented too. Each client should have the opportunity to create tailor made traveling plans. Therefore Dolphin Dynamics Ltd. is on a good way how to provide excellent products and services. After couple of months of usage, it will be possible to evaluate the software and make conclusions about its implications on the travel industry.
