New listing platform for Australia

A centralized listing program? That is the idea of the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ADTW) which decided to create a centralized listing program in order to promote the tourism industry through an advanced marketing capability offered to all operators.

ADTW main goal is to distribute information for the Australian tourism industry which is composed of various industry sectors such as business events, cruise industry, nature-based tourism… The use of ADTW-Online will help the operators of the industry to be better connected and to better use the offer of marketing tools and channels.

ADTW is now replacing the eight old legacy systems that were managed and owned by the state offices. ADTW works with 150 online distributors, websites and apps but also with thousands of small new travel operators that will also enjoy the tools offered by ADTW.

The program has been launched recently in February 22, 2016; it first started with Tourism Australia listing and was followed by a deployment of the service offered state by state. During the first week of use, the Australian government agency « Tourism Australia » registered 106 million of API requests; the system has been directly appreciated.

Other services were added such as copywrite services, translation services which are useful for the Chinese market, syndication options and access to the analyse of data and reporting features.

The digital marketing and consulting agency ,SapientNitro was engaged by ADTW to manage the cloud service provider, cloud infrastructure, Rackspace, but also to help improving the interaction between app developers and IT operations staff.

SapientNitro competences in digital helped a refreshment of the system and worked exactly how it was scheduled, with a visible structure through all the process. It helped delivering an upgrade in softwares but also to focus on the environment thanks to the work of the Rackspace team.

To help the eight old legacy systems to communicate, SapientNitro had to use tools such as video conference and whiteboard technology.

The main objective is that everyone in the tourism industry has the same information and the same advantages regarding the promotion of Australia. Adopting this DevOps and cloud services, help the customers to no more waste time and to concentrate on quality.

Associate with SapientNitro support and the ADTW team reduction, tourism industry actors, will receive a better support. That’s kind of an upgrade in service that results from a hard work to make of Australia a leading actor in technology.
